Some folks want to see what our house looks like, with our stuff in it.
I want to tell them to come visit and see for themselves.
But that’s kind of selfish of me, and probably not practical.
So, as promised, part one of the house tour. This installment: hallway, dining room, and living room!
Our front hall is quite wide–wide enough to have a large rug covering most of it.
On one side, we have an entry table–handy for leaving one’s purse, or perhaps books that you need to take with you the next time you head out the door–and a mirror, for any last-minute adjustments.
And on the other side, some small benches, on which to sit and tie your shoes or whatever.
Oops. This is what it looks like normally/far too often. Let’s adjust that a bit.
There. That’s better.
Some of those probably should be put into the little shoe locker to the left there, and some should go up into closets. But that’ll do for now. We have more touring to get through!
To the left of the entry hall, we have the dining room.
One of Theo’s favorite spots is the chair in the far corner, where he can make sure to let us know by his incessant barking that, hey, there are people walking... on the walking path! Alert, alert!!
The china hutch is on the other side of the room.
Connected straight from the entry hall is the living room.
We were happy to find a home where our piano could also live happily. :) This is the room for books and music. Two of my favorites.
You may have noticed these lovely items.
Yes–boxes upon boxes of books. The plan is to have bookshelves on this wall, and the two chairs in front of them, for a library-like feeling. (The bookshelves are coming soon! I will have a follow-up “after” photo, when it’s all installed and the books are on the shelves.)
On the other side of the room, by the piano, we hung one of our Manglesen prints.
It only took us two years to get it hung in the last house—so we are ahead of the curve.
(Why, yes, that is a lovely iMac cord, draped artfully across the pillows. :P
Oops.)
This room has Theo’s other favorite spot. Not much has changed in that regard.
And, just because my friend Maralee needs to see it…..here’s where we have the bear.
I don’t know if he is going to stay there, but it’s a good spot for now.
There you have it.
More house tour to come–after I have a sunny day to take more photos.
And after we get a few more pictures on the walls. :)
But definitely feel free to visit in person–any time!
